MAC GUIDELINES FOR LIVE SUNDAY SERVICES
Our live Sunday Services have been redesigned to create a safe and sanitary environment that allows for physical distancing due to COVID-19. We are undertaking many measures to decrease the level of risk for those attending in person (see FAQs below) however, all individuals who attend must understand and assume their own level of risk.
We are offering two Sunday Services at 9:30AM and 11:00AM. The Health Screening Questionnaire and Registration (see below) are required each Sunday Service you plan to attend.
We will be offering a limited amount of childcare spots for kids in grades JK - Grade 3. Weekly registration will be required and can be done when registering to attend your choice of Sunday Service. In addition, an annual 2020/2021 Consent Form is required for each child that will be participating in MAC Kids Programs.
A Health Screening is required for each person attending. Please review the following 3 questions.
- Do you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing?
- Have you, or anyone in your household, traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days?
- Have you, or anyone in your household, had any contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 or a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?
If you answer YES to any of the following questions, we cannot, unfortunately, have you come to our Sunday Service this week. Please do not proceed to registration. We encourage you to check out the service online on Sundays HERE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will you continue to offer online Sunday services?
Yes! Our Sunday Services will be live at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
Why do I need to register?
Guidelines set by the provincial government limit attendance to 30% of our building capacity. In order to be compliant, registration will help us limit the number of people attending to ensure that we stay within our capacity limit.
What type of safety precautions is the church taking?
We are training all our staff and volunteers on health and safety practices, social distancing practices, and cleaning and sanitizing high-touch surfaces throughout the building. More on that below.
When should I arrive at church?
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the service and don’t linger or congregate in the building before or after church in order to allow us time to properly clean and disinfect before and after services.
Where will I enter?
Only the front entrance (facing Yonge Street) will be open to guests entering the building in order to help us control entry, count guests and maintain safe social distancing practices. Interior doors will remain open at all times to avoid having to touch door handles. Our goal is to provide you with a touch-free experience.
Will I receive a wellness check as I arrive?
No. However, we do require that you fill out the health questionnaire. If you are feeling unwell we urge you to stay home. If you have any symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days you cannot register to attend.
Do I need to wear a face covering?
As of July 13, 2020, face coverings are mandatory at MAC based on the Simcoe Muskoka District Heath Unit guideline.. See MAC's statement on face coverings HERE. Please bring your own face covering if possible but if not, disposable masks will be provided in the lobby for those who do not have their own.
What type of social distancing can I expect?
Seating will be rearranged to ensure social distancing. Families in the same household are encouraged to sit together, but we will ask that you leave 3 seats between you and the next person/family in your row. Our ushers will assist with seating if required.
What type of sanitization can I expect?
Before, after, during and in between gatherings, our team will be disinfecting the auditorium, door handles, high-touch surfaces and restrooms. You name it…it will be clean! Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building and you are strongly encouraged to use them!
Will the restrooms be open?
Yes, the restroom on the main floor will be open and will be continually cleaned and sanitized; however, we ask that you only use the restroom if absolutely necessary. The lower level washrooms will not be open.
Will there be refreshments?
We will not be providing coffee, tea or snacks during this first phase of our reopening as guidelines set by the provincial government do not allow for us to provide food or beverages of any kind.
What about my kids?
There will be no nursery or toddler rooms open open at this time, but these younger children are welcome to stay with you in the service. A limited amount of childcare spots will be available for children in grades JK - Grade 3 at each service. Registration is required.
What other changes can I expect?
We will not be passing the plate for Public Offering. We will be solely using the boxes at the back of the sanctuary for tithes and offering envelopes. You can also continue to give online using Tithe.ly or by sending an E-transfer to [email protected]
On Communion Sundays, we will no longer pass trays to distribute the emblems. Instead, packaged communion cups will be used.
